Plantar Fasciitis is a foot condition that causes pain on the bottom of the foot, in the heel and arch areas. It refers to the inflamation of a ligament, called the plantar fascia – a thick band of connective tissue beginning at the heel and extending forward and under the ball of the foot.
Plantar Fasciitis is often, but not limited to, pain under the foot or in the heel first thing in the morning. Given that the muscles are at rest overnight, putting your weight on your arches in the morning can often tear the muscle fibres.
